Parks Master Plan  

The Garfield Heights Parks and Active Transportation Master Plan is a document that provides an inclusive framework for orderly and consistent planning, acquisition, development and administration of the parks and recreation resources, programs and facilities in the community. It serves as a framework for the planning, development, rehabilitation and maintenance of Garfield Heights’ parks, open spaces, recreation facilities and programming.

The purpose of the plan is to:

GUIDE the community in evaluating existing conditions in the City of Garfield Heights Park system through extensive public engagement and technical analysis.

INFORM current residents and City leaders of best practices in park planning, along with the public’s vision for the future of Garfield Heights’ parks.

DEVELOP a unique vision for each of the City’s parks based on their own set of challenges and opportunities.

MEASURE future progress and implementation of park improvement efforts across the Garfield Heights park system.
