After a slow start in September there is no doubt our In-House Beginner Hockey program is growing in Garfield Heights! This team meets on Saturday mornings at the recreation center for practices & games & is coached by Jim DiRosa – Hockey program coordinator,  Ryan DiRosa, Troy Sutliff, and Lindsay Glavan.  Our plans for next season will be to start a Mite and Squirt team and an all- Girls Hockey team for 12U, both registered with the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League (CSHL).

The Crusaders participated in a hockey scrimmage against The Cleveland Rockin’ Wildcats at Garfield Ice rink on Saturday, March 19th, 2022. The Wildcats are a Special needs ice hockey team from Northeast Ohio. Our team is comprised of young adults with a variety of diagnoses who happen to love the game of hockey!

The Crusaders organization was started over 10 years ago. The organization is not for profit and the sole mission is to develop youth athletes to be the best versions of themselves by encouraging responsibility, hard work and sportsmanship. Crusaders teams have been ranked nationally and our players are first liners with many of the top Independent, parochial and public schools in the Cleveland area. Our program includes power skating, goalie coaches and a staff performance psychologist.
